La Dolfina achieved its fifth title Palermo

In this way, the Cañuelas team took two of the three titles of Triple Crown 2017 in our country - it had also stayed with the Tortugas Open - while its loser was left with the remaining - Open Hurlingham Club -.

 

La Dolfina won its eleventh title in Palermo in its final No. 17 (13 consecutive) since the club was created in 2000 (did not reach the decisive match only in 2004). On the side of the Zeta, he stayed at the door to achieve his seventh title, a trophy that he has not achieved since 2012.

Individually, Adolfo Cambiaso achieved his 14th. Title; Juan M. Nero and Pablo Mac Donough their Palermo Open N ° 8, while David Stirling (h) was awarded his sixth in history.

 

In this great modern classic of the Argentine polo, Ellerstina was much more brave and fighter than in recent times, pressing at all times to his rival, who found no game for much of the game, even with inaccuracies taqueo, strikingly. In the extra chukker and after a good play of the Zeta that "Polito" tried to define from afar, the replica was lethal: Cambiaso enabled Nero, who with a great goal defined the match No. 41 (27 for LD, 14 for Z) between these two sets (28th in finals). AWARDS

 

After the first speech by Eduardo Novillo Astrada (h) as president of the AAP, the award ceremony began.

The replicas to winners and finalists were delivered by the Intendants of General Rodríguez and Cañuelas, Darío Kubar and Marisa Fassi, respectively, together with the advisors of the Argentine Polo Association, Delfin Uranga and Rafael Cúneo Libarona.

Next, Pablo Mac Donough, captain of the title winner, received the HSBC Cup from Mr. Gabriel Martino, president of the bank in Argentina.

Juan M. Nero was chosen as the best player in the final and was awarded the Gonzalo Heguy Trophy, which he received from Jesús Heguy; while the Javier Novillo Astrada Trophy went to Pablo Pieres, the scorer of 38 goals in the tournament (delivered by Verónica Novillo Astrada). Then, Adolfo Cambiaso (h) was distinguished with the Equine Promotion Cup to the best mounted player in the final, a trophy he received from Fernando Schweitzer.

The Gonzalo Tanoira award for the best mounted player of the contest went to Juan M. Nero (delivered by Gonzalo Tanoira -h-), while the Fair Play award to the most disciplined player of the tournament went to Pablo Mac Donough, who received it from the hands of Rafael Cuneo Libarona. Meanwhile, the AAJP trophy for the Fair Play of the final was for Gonzalo Pieres (h) -attached Marcos Di Paola-.

Among the horses, the Lady Susan Townley Cup for the best horse player of the final was for Dolfina B09 Cuartetera,played by Adolfo Cambiaso, who received the award and the blanket from the Minister of Agribusiness of the Nation, Luis M. Etchevehere and the advisor of the AAP, Federico Virasoro, who also handed over the trophy Tito Lezcano to the petiseros of the winning horse the Lady Susan Townley Cup, Juan M. Aneas and Gustavo Gómez. The Argentine Association Award for Polo Horse Breeders for the Best Argentine Polo Player Product and Argentine Rural Society Award was also for Dolfina B09 Cuartetera. The award was presented by both presidents, Mr. Santiago Ballester and Ing. Agr. Daniel Pelegrina, respectively. After that, the Hall of Fame of the AACCP was inaugurated, in which Dolfina Cuartetera, of Adolfo Cambiaso, entered; Marseillaise, by Horacio S. Heguy; and Luna, by Gonzalo Pieres (p).

Then, the Argentine Association of Polo recognized the brothers Eduardo and Alberto (h) Heguy, for their 31 participations in the Palermo Open. After some presents to the judges and the referee of the final match, the president of the AAP, Novillo Astrada, along with Alan, from Barrio 31 de Retiro, delivered the Cup of the Open to the champion La Dolfina Sancor Seguros, who then made the uncorking with double bottles Magnum Champagne, to celebrate the obtaining the title.

La Dolfina Sancor Seguros (40 goles) derrotó ajustadamente y en chukker suplementario a Ellerstina Johor (39) por 14-13 -gol de oro de Juan M. Nero- y se consagró pentacampeón del Abierto Argentino en forma consecutiva, tras adjudicarse el sábado 2/12 el 124º Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo HSBC, en un encuentro disputado en la mítica cancha 1 de Palermo. De esta forma, el conjunto de Cañuelas se llevó dos de los tres títulos de Triple Corona 2017 en nuestro país –también se había quedado con el Abierto de Tortugas– mientras que su vencido se quedó con el restante –Abierto del Hurlingham Club–.

La Dolfina logró su décimo primer título en Palermo en su final N° 17 (13 consecutivas) desde que se creó el club en 2000 (no llegó al partido decisivo únicamente en 2004).  Por el lado de la Zeta, se quedó en la puerta de lograr su séptimo título, trofeo que no consigue desde 2012.

Individualmente,  Adolfo Cambiaso logró su 14to. título; Juan M. Nero y Pablo Mac Donough su Abierto de Palermo N° 8, mientras que David Stirling (h) se adjudicó su sexto en la historia.

En este gran clásico moderno del polo argentino, Ellerstina se mostró mucho más aguerrido y luchador que en los últimos tiempos, presionando en todo momento a su rival, que no encontró juego durante gran parte del partido, incluso con imprecisiones de taqueo, llamativamente. De esta manera y con Pablo Pieres como estandarte, la Zeta logró 3 goles de ventaja en el inicio del segundo chukker, sorprendiendo a los polistas de La Dolfina.

Con la aparición estelar de Adolfo Cambiaso, de estupendo encuentro en la final, La Dolfina no sólo se mantuvo a tiro, sino que pasó al frente por primera vez (5-4 al finalizar el tercero), pero enseguida se rehabilitó la Zeta, nuevamente con su mejor valor en la jornada, “Polito” Pieres, siempre bien apuntalado por su primo Facundo, quien hoy se mostró muy fuerte en la marca. Así las cosas y tras el 8-8 con el que finalizaron el quinto parcial, La Dolfina mostró su mejor cara en el sexto, cuando se acomodaron Pablo Mac Donough y “Juanma” Nero, que empezaba a mostrarse impasable. Desde allí, La Dolfina logró un parcial de 5-2 para llegar 13-10 al inicio del último chukker.  ¿Partido liquidado? ¡De ninguna manera! Ellerstina aprovechó su momento, quemó las naves y logró tres goles consecutivos (uno de “Polito” y dos penales de “ Facu”, el último desde 60 yardas faltando menos de 30 segundos) y llevó el partido a suplementario.

En el extra chukker y tras una buena jugada de la Zeta que “Polito” intentó definir desde lejos, la réplica fue letal: Cambiaso habilitó a Nero, que con un golazo definió el partido N° 41 (27 para LD, 14 para Z) entre estos dos conjuntos (28vo. en finales).  De esta manera, La Dolfina Sancor Seguros, que continúa haciendo historia, consiguió su 22da. victoria consecutiva y su 5to. título en fila en el Abierto de Palermo.

ENTREGA DE PREMIOS

Luego del primer discurso de Eduardo Novillo Astrada (h) como presidente de la AAP, comenzó la ceremonia de premiación.

Las réplicas a ganadores y finalistas fueron entregadas por los Intendentes de General Rodríguez y Cañuelas, Darío Kubar y Marisa Fassi, respectivamente, junto a los consejeros de la Asociación Argentina de Polo, Delfín Uranga y Rafael Cúneo Libarona.

A continuación, Pablo Mac Donough, capitán del ganador del título, recibió la Copa HSBC de manos del Sr. Gabriel Martino, presidente del banco en Argentina.

Juan M. Nero fue elegido como el mejor jugador de la final y se hizo acreedor del Trofeo Gonzalo Heguy, que recibió de manos de Jesús Heguy; mientras que el Trofeo Javier Novillo Astrada al goleador del campeonato fue para Pablo Pieres, autor de 38 goles en el torneo (entregó Verónica Novillo Astrada).  Luego, Adolfo Cambiaso (h) fue distinguido con la Copa Fomento Equino al jugador mejor montado de la final, trofeo que recibió de manos de Fernando Schweitzer.

El premio Gonzalo Tanoira para el jugador mejor montado del certamen fue para Juan M. Nero (entregó Gonzalo Tanoira –h–), mientras que el premio Fair Play al jugador más disciplinado del torneo fue para Pablo Mac Donough, quien lo recibió de manos de Rafael Cúneo Libarona. En tanto, el trofeo AAJP para el Fair Play de la final fue para Gonzalo Pieres (h) –entregó Marcos Di Paola–.

Entre los equinos, la Copa Lady Susan Townley al mejor caballo jugador de la final fue para Dolfina B09 Cuartetera, jugada por Adolfo Cambiaso, que recibió el premio y la manta de manos del Ministro de Agroindustria de la Nación, Luis M. Etchevehere y del consejero de la AAP, Federico Virasoro, quien también entregó el trofeo Tito Lezcano a los petiseros del caballo ganador de la Copa Lady Susan Townley, Juan M. Aneas y Gustavo Gómez.

El premio Asociación Argentina de Criadores de Caballos de Polo al Mejor Producto Jugador Inscripto Raza Polo Argentino y Premio Sociedad Rural Argentina fue también para Dolfina B09 Cuartetera. El premio fue entregado por ambos presidentes, Sr. Santiago Ballester e Ing. Agr. Daniel Pelegrina, respectivamente.

Tras ello, se inauguró el Salón de la Fama de la AACCP, en el que ingresaron Dolfina Cuartetera, de Adolfo Cambiaso; Marsellesa, de Horacio S. Heguy; y Luna, de Gonzalo Pieres (p).

Luego, la Asociación Argentina de Polo reconoció a los hermanos Eduardo y Alberto (h) Heguy, por sus 31 participaciones en el Abierto de Palermo.

Luego de unos presentes a los jueces y el árbitro del partido final, el presidente de la AAP, Novillo Astrada, junto a Alan, del Barrio 31 de Retiro, entregaron la Copa del Abierto al campeón La Dolfina Sancor Seguros, quienes luego hicieron el descorche con los botellones Doble Mágnum de Champagne, para festejar la obtención del título.
